PADI dive specialities

One of the joys of diving is that there's always something more to learn! If you don't fancy doing a whole course, or simply don't have the time, that's no reason you shouldn't take a speciality course and get another qualification under your belt. PADI offers a wide range of speciality courses, all of which we offer at Adventure Spot. Which one will you do first?!

Enriched Air Diver Speciality

Our most popular speciality, as more and more people become aware of the advantages of using Nitrox instead of air for recreational diving: no decompression limits in the 20-30m range, or if used on repetitive dives. This speciality will not only make you safer in the water, it will also give you greater knowledge of diving physiology.

Deep Diver Speciality

This speciality will teach you how dive safely up to 40m. You will learn more about the effects of narcosis and decompression sickness, air consumption and special equipment requirements, and will explore the deeper sections of the Canyon and the Blue Hole.

Multi-level Diver Speciality

If you choose to take this speciality, you will develop your knowledge of the planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of multilevel diving, plus more about using dive computers and a review of the main safety issues related to diving.

Equipment Speciality

We’ve all experienced faulty equipment, a wetsuit tear or maybe something more serious, but not everyone knows how to check for problems – or deal with them if they are found. Learn how to maintain, adjust and repair basic scuba equipment, and you’ll find your own gear lasting far longer in the future as a result.

Digital Photographer Speciality

Our second most popular speciality has been running since 2006. Whether you’re a novice or experienced underwater photographer, it’ll boost your confidence, knowledge – and your photo collection!

Boat Speciality

As well as being a great day out on the ocean wave, this speciality is a fun way to get familiar with the practice of boat diving.

Search and Recovery Speciality

A very important speciality course on which you will develop the necessary skills and knowledge for safe search and recovery diving, including techniques for limited-visibility diving, underwater navigation and object location.

Night Speciality

For those who have never dived at night, the prospect can be a daunting one. This course helps the student diver develop the skills, knowledge and techniques necessary to safely participate in night-diving activities.

Drift Speciality

Learn more about the planning, organization, procedures, techniques and hazards of drift diving, including the use of special equipment such as floats, lines and reels, the proper procedures for buoyancy-control, and useful techniques for staying close to a buddy or together as a group.
